Meet the Band

Josh Moody - Guitar/ Vocals     Josh is accomplished guitarist who was mainly influenced by his father Alan Moody ,who taught him how to play the guitar. Josh and his father traveled to festivals and jam sessions where they played with other musicians . He was also influenced by the late Jerry Lundy (fiddle) and the late Allen Reed(guitar) and their uncle Louie. He is a composer and wrote two of the songs on the new Album "Down the Highway" and "Drifter of the South " He resides in St. Marys, West Virginia  with his wife Stacy . They have two daughters ,Casey and Clover.​  ​

  Cody Nutter - Mandolin/ Vocals      Cody is a former award winning  WVU football player who has always had a interest in music.  He began playing guitar/vocals with the Tallgrass Band  with guest appearances while in college. He continues to play with them and Sour Mash String Band .He is a football coach and teacher at Parkersburg South High School. He resides in Washington, West Virginia with his wife Jaimee and sons Roane and Bayne

                                                                                       Harry Kuhn  ​Bass,Vocals
​Harry comes from a musical family, he first started on the flat top guitar at the age of 14 then picked up the mandolin a couple years later before discovering his love for the bass at around 18 years of age. He started on Electric bass then picked up the upright a short time later when the family band needed that position filled. He sings all harmony parts and he brings over 40 years of musical experience to the Sour Mash String Band, where he has performed on a national stage working with many groups, he enjoys all types of music but his roots are in classic country and bluegrass.

Mariane Barnett - Vocals  - Marianne Barnett has been singing bluegrass since she was 4 years old .She was a guest singer with The Bluegrass Strangers and Jordon Run then became lead/harmony singer with Outer Edge before joining The Sour Mash String Band where she sings harmony and lead vocals. She is a Special Education teacher and resides in Franklin Furnace, Ohio

Greg Settle - Banjo/vocals -  started playing music at age 12. He has played with many bands through the years on guitar,mandolin ,and banjo. He currently plays banjo with Sour Mash and sings some lead and harmony vocals, He enjoys the opportunity to put his creative twist on the SMSB style of music. He lives in Little Hocking Ohio with his wife and has 2 children ,Jordan and Collin.
